Executive Team

Emma Baker

Year: Junior

Major: Business Administration, Entrepreneurship

Hello, my name is Emma Baker and I am the president of International Business and Economics Club. I am from Salem, Oregon and my major is Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. This past Summer, I had the opportunity to go abroad and study Social Media and Wine Marketing in Siena, Italy. Studying abroad was one of the best decision I’ve made during college and I loved learning about other cultures and lifestyles. I am honored to be the president of IBEC and I am excited for this upcoming year. I want to create an inclusive and interactive atmosphere during our meetings and socials. Thanks to my dedicated and amazing executive team, we have some exciting meetings and site visits planned for this year.

Delaney Swink

Vice President

Year: Senior

Majors: International Studies, Romance Languages

My name is Delaney and I am the vice president of IBEC, serving on the executive team of the club for my second year. Since joining my freshman year, IBEC has helped me to find a sense of community on campus, expand my understanding of global consciousness in international businesses, and provide me with valuable networking opportunities. Though Ashland, Oregon will always be home to me, I know I will call many places across the globe “home” throughout my life. After spending the most inspiring, challenging, and rewarding year abroad in Chile and Morocco last year, I am back for my senior at the UO and Robert D. Clark Honors College ready to complete my degrees in International Studies (concentrating in International Nonprofit Management/Francophone Africa) and Romance Languages (Spanish and French). This year I will also be writing and defending my thesis on the viability of Islamic Feminism as a tool for empowerment of Moroccan women, interning with MAPLE Microdevelopment (a nonprofit founded by IBEC’s founding alum), and applying to be a Peace Corps volunteer after graduation. I also look forward to being a leader of IBEC this year, meeting new members, and discussing how sustainable and ethical business practices are key factors to creating positive change in the world.

Matt Currier

Year: Senior

Major: Accounting

I’m a senior in the LCB pursing my accounting degree. I am originally from Connecticut but went to High School locally in Springfield. The Eugene area has many great outdoor opportunities that I try to take advantage of whenever possible, whether that’s hiking, boating, fishing, or hunting. I joined IBEC as I saw it as a great opportunity to learn about different cultures as people are the best part of business.

Maria Eagle

Public Relations Director

Year: Senior

Major: Business Administration, Entrepreneurship

Maria is a senior from Sonoma, California majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. She has been fortunate enough to travel abroad gaining valuable experience within cultures and international communication. As Director of Public Relations, she plans to use her experience abroad to contribute to the growth and progression of IBEC and its valuable members. She’s a first year member in IBEC but is extremely passionate and excited to be apart of the lively socials, professional events, and memorable guest speakers that IBEC continues to offer.

Nicholas Lam

Year: Sophomore

Major: Business Administration, Finance

My name is Nick and I am from Portland, Oregon. I am a sophomore studying Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and minoring in Economics. Having grown up in both Taiwan and the United States, I developed a strong global mindset which serves as the catalyst to my approach in life. This past summer I had the opportunity to be a Financial Representative Intern for Foresters Financial, which was an invaluable experience to my career development, as I aim to have a career in finance. As someone who is globally-minded and intrigued by foreign experiences, I aspire to branch out and apply an international outlook in both my personal life and professional career.

Harrison Lee

Year: Junior

Major: Accounting

I was born and raised in Orange County, California, but am now enjoying my third year here in Eugene. I have always had a great interest towards business and would like to follow my mother’s career in accounting. All my life I have had a passion for exploring the outdoors. When opportunity presents itself, I enjoy hiking, finding hidden gems, and going on spontaneous roadtrips. Other than that, I am either sleeping or running around looking for food late at night.
